Industrial Bronze Plating
For extreme corrosion resistance, bronze plating is typically made up of 8 to 12% Tin with the remaining material being copper. A bronze coating may be used to seal the substrate before the more functional coating of Hard Chrome is applied. (See Chrome on Bronze)
Can be used on its own or with Hard Chrome for many industrial applications.
Bronze can be plated as a decorative finish and is sometimes used as a substitute for nickel. The colour of the deposit can vary from copper colour (2–3% tin) to white (> 20% tin).
Bronze may also be used to build up a thickness of deposit, which would be impractical for chrome alone.
Bronze applications include:
Hydraulics
Mining Machinery
Marine Applications
