Nickel Plating is one of the most popular and versatile finishes available. It is a metal that is very resistant to corrosion, which provides a tough, durable and ductile coating.

The appearance of Nickel can differ depending on requirement. Different formulations of the plating bath will produce a deposit having a definite type of use.

Semi Bright Nickel:

• Ductile (Low Stress)
• High Corrosion Resistance
• Semi Bright Appearance
• Easily Polished to a Mirror Finish
• Deposited under bright Nickel when applying the Duplex Finish

Bright Nickel:

• Brittle
• Corrosion Resistant especially when used in combination with Semi Bright Nickel
• Harder Coating than Semi Bright
• Bright Appearance
• Decorative Use

Electroless Nickel Plating

Electroless Nickel is different from most plating, because the process requires no electricity.

Electroless Nickel can vary in hardness and corrosion resistance, it will deposit uniformly over the entire part, unlike the processes which require electricity to plate, and has a wide variety of uses.

• Uniform coating on the most complex and irregular surfaces / components.
• Corrosion Resistance and Hardness will vary depending on the phosporous content of the bath.
• Hardness of the coating can be increased with the addition of baking operation following the plating

Electrolees Nickel can be plated over a wide variety of metals:

• Aluminium
• Mild Steels
• Hardened Steels
• Stainless Steels
• Copper
• Brass
