Zinc Plating

Zinc is a sacrificial coating used to prevent corrosion on steel. The corrosion resistance of Zinc can be increased with the use of chromates and sealers.

Zinc has other applications such as:

• Improving the aesthetic value of the part.
• Lubricity
• Combined with a passivate makes a good paint base

Post Plating Passivates are:

• Gold
• Blue (Silver in Appearance)
• Olive Drab (Others on request)

Zinc Plating is a functional coating, and at Zachrome with the addition of passivates enhances the overall appearance of the product.
